As a reminder, here are the steps that you must complete to
Become a Get Covered Illinois broker:
Complete the Illinois online training and score 80% on the post-training assessment available on the Get Covered Illinois Learning Management System.
Sign the Get Covered Illinois user agreement (accessed upon completing the training.)
Maintain a license with the Illinois Department of Insurance with a health line of authority.
As a broker or assister, you can provide guidance on how to apply for Medicaid. The Medicaid website in Illinois is commonly know as “ABE” and can be accessed at ABE.Illinois.gov.
The ABE website allows for a “No Account” submission and a submission where the customer must create an Account first. Creating an account allows the customer to check back on the status of their application, to upload support documents, and to create a Manage My Case if their application is approved. Through ABE customers can apply for:
Medicaid, Medical Program Coverage
Food Assistance
Cash Assistance
Medicare Savings Program
